history
There are three versions of Jun: the DnD adventurer from Faerun, the DnD NPC shopkeeper/aide to the Queen of Summer from the Weave, and the incredibly powerful ninetailed High Kitsune from many years into the future of the Weave. All three have basically the same backstory, however, and the term "Fae Realm" is used here simply for ease.
Born in the Fae Realm when his parents were lost there, a disguised Queen of Summer came to them and aided his mother in the delivery though not even she could grant him sight--and declared he would be her favored warlock when he reached adulthood. With that, she whisked the new family away to the village of Izumi-dani in the material plane where they would live in relative peace until Jun was sixteen years old. At that point, he left their hidden village to become, of all things, a courtesan. He was a smart boy and could have done anything, but he was also incurably lazy and a courtesan in the big city sounded like just his cup of tea. Of course bandits happened and his patron had to swoop in to save him and give him his familiar, but he got there just fine in the end. That first year in the city was a whirlwind for Jun: he joined an organization working from the shadows to keep things running smoothly, he made friends...and he had a son, thanks in part to his own foolishness as well as some machinations from his patrons that he would be unaware of until Tetsu was sixteen. Jun sent his son to be raised by his parents, moved to a city closer to the village, and continued his work for another decade.
When Tetsu was about eleven, Jun decided to leave the life of a courtesan behind and, at the request the organization, he opened an arcana shop in a frontier town set to have something of a boom and has been running the Firelit Star since. It is at this point where the backstories of Adventurer Jun and NPC Jun diverge slightly, as NPC Jun undergoes much the same trials Adventurer Jun does, only more or less solo. And with fewer dragons.

personality
Jun is many things, but Jun will be the first to tell you he is an impulsive, selfish man who does things without thinking and generally without caring if other people will approve of his decisions. He doesn't bother to tell people things they may want to know (though if it's important he will share what he knows), preferring to keep his cards close to his chest in most cases. This has led to a few missteps, but he, like all trickster types, will just ignore those as time passes.
He'll also be the first to tell you that he's nothing special, despite many people telling him otherwise, though he is starting to work past this as it's hard to think you're nothing special when you're dating the Queen of Summer. And also responsible for saving the Fae. It's a work in progress, however, and Jun will always think his friends and family more spectacular than he himself is. This may be why he's always keen to buy them whatever they want if he can and shower them with affection and gifts. Shopping may be the one thing outside of work for his Queen that Jun will do without any prodding. He's talented, but he's also lazy. He's never had to try, after all, and he doesn't really see much of a point in starting now.
Unless the Queen requests it.
Of course, once he takes his place as High Kitsune, he's much more confident in himself but is still forever eager to lavish praise and gifts on his people. Still a lazy bastard, though
abilities
In terms of DnD mechanics, Jun is a high level Archfey warlock with the Pact of the Chain and a powerful kitsune/foxkin on top of that. His race isn't that of proper shapeshifters, only able to go between fox, kitsune, and half-elven (the latter of which is merely an illusion). In non-DnD terms, he's very powerful.
Some of his spells and abilities include:
-able to sense when he's being lied to
-spells to cripple (Power Word Pain), deceive (a myriad of illusion spells), smite (Dawn), burn (lots of fire spells), and charm (both natural and faerie enhanced)
-mastery with any martial or simple weapon he picks up
-multilingual
